Starting in September 2026, Beyond Careers will have ONLY the following programs.

Mentorship

High school students will be identified by their school instructor/teacher.  Beyond Careers will match students to a volunteer mentor from different career industries.  Areas of interest could include topics such as working in the specific industries, types of degrees they may want to consider, after they graduate from high school.

Peer to Peer Mentoring

Students who have previous experience in volunteering with Beyond Careers will be able to mentor new students who participate in the program. 

Community Service

Students would be able to use their volunteer hours for community service that could be used towards their grades determined by their school. The student can include this milestone on their college and scholarship application, job applications and their resume.

Leadership Development

This will include team building, character development, attitudes, communication, respect, decision making, goal setting, and conflict resolution through service-learning. 

Outreach for Tax Preparation

Beyond Careers will provide outreach for taxpayers who are able to prepare their own tax return.  Beyond Careers has been a partner with GetYourRefund (GYR) for four years.  GYR provides a custom URL for Beyond Careers, (GYR/Beyond Careers).  Flyers are sent to our partners who add the custom URL to their website, post the flyer at their location, etc.  When the taxpayer goes to the customized URL, they will be guided through the process where they set up their account to prepare their tax return.  

Career Preparation

Through career preparation, our strategy is to analyze the needs of the community and local businesses and tailor the program to meet present and future skill needs. Students gain career exploration experience and possible insight into future educational pathways. By empowering our participants with information and training that is desired by employers now and in the future, we are creating a workforce that has traditionally been underrepresented in the largest growth sectors of service, high-tech, and health related industries.
