2023 Tax Season

Beyond Careers has been a registered community partner with the Internal Revenue Service - Stakeholder Partnerships. Education & Communication (IRS-SPEC) and was established as a mobile Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) to provide free tax preparation for taxpayers in the low-to-moderate income bracket.  Filings for the 2023 tax returns will begin in January 2024.

Virtual VITA with Students

Beyond Careers has expanded our program to include an initiative called Virtual VITA with Students.  VITA is on the Texas Education Agency (TEA) approved curriculum List for Public School Accountability under the College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) Rate for Schools and Industry-Based Certifications (IBC).

Some schools will have the Virtual VITA only program if CCMR and IBC are not applicable for them.

Beyond Careers and GetYourRefund

The taxpayer will need a computer with a camera and internet connectivity or a mobile device.    GYR is also another measure that helps avoid identity theft.  Taxpayers will set up their GYR account and upload their documents by clicking on:
